ESA (Empowerment Scholarship Account): 

Understanding ESA Funding

Under Arizona’s Universal ESA expansion, all students are eligible to receive state funding for their education.

• Grades 1–12: approximately $7,000–$8,000 per year

• Kindergarten: roughly half the standard amount

• Students with disabilities: may receive higher funding
  
  

These funds can be used to pay tuition at Big House Christian Academy.

Important Note About BHCA and ESA

BHCA does not control ESA, does not have access to your child’s ESA account, and cannot view or manage contracts.
All ESA contracts are between the parent and the State of Arizona. We are happy to guide you where we can, but ultimately you maintain full control of your ESA account.

How to Use ESA to Pay BHCA Tuition

Step 1:

Apply for ESA at https://www.azed.gov/esa.

Step 2:

ESA will email you a contract.
This contract lists your child’s quarterly funding amount.
➡️ Sign and submit the contract as soon as you receive it.

Step 3:

ESA will send a confirmation once your contract is signed.
Keep this email or PDF for your records.

Step 4:

Approximately three weeks after signing, ESA will fund your ClassWallet account.

Step 5:

When you receive funding, download the BHCA tuition invoice sent to you by Bank of America.

Step 6:

Log in to ClassWallet to pay the invoice.

• Select “Pay Vendor”

• Choose Big House Christian Academy from the vendor list

• Upload the invoice

• Select the expense category: “Tuition or fees at a qualifying school”

• Submit your payment
  
  

Step 7:

ClassWallet will email you a payment confirmation.

Step 8:

Each quarter, ESA will deposit new funds.
Repeat Steps 4–7 for every quarter.

Step 9:

Each year, ESA will send you a renewal contract.
➡️ You must sign this renewal to continue receiving funding the following school year.
