By Mrs. Natasha Brady, Head of School
Choosing a high school is a BIG decision.
Where your child spends the next four years will shape their faith, their confidence, their friends, their habits, their worldview, their future… all of it.
So here’s the real question:
Why choose BHCA for high school?
Let me tell you — and I’m going to be honest, because that’s the only way I know how to be.
Some people hear “small school” and think “limited.”
Nope.
Wrong.
Try again.
At BHCA, small means:
your child gets opportunities they’d never get in a big school (that deserves it's own post)
leadership roles
being known and valued
being mentored
participating in activities without being swallowed by a crowd
being able to shine instead of getting lost in a hallway of 2,500 teenagers
Small isn’t limiting.
Small is launching.
In junior year, BHCA students can start taking early college classes — often at HALF the cost.
And they do AMAZING.
Why?
Because we’ve spent years teaching them how to think, study, manage time, ask questions, and take responsibility. They’re ready.
BHCA isn’t Christian in name only.
It’s Christian in heart, culture, practice, relationships, decisions — everything.
Your teen won’t just “survive” spiritually here.
They will grow.
Not a number.
Not a face in a crowd.
Not a data point.
A person with value, potential, gifts, weaknesses, and a calling — and we take that seriously.
We don’t do busywork.
We DO teach deeply and intentionally.
Enough said.
Healthy.
Supportive.
Less drama. Notice I didn't say no drama; they're still teens.
More growth.
The kind of friends you want your child to have.
Chapel.
Sports.
Service projects.
Mentoring.
Academics.
Life groups.
At BHCA, everyone gets a chance to lead — not just the top few.
We pair grace with truth, freedom with accountability, and warmth with expectations.
Teenagers thrive here because the boundaries are clear and the relationships are real.
Daily.
Consistently.
Intentionally.
This matters more than anything else.
I mean, come on.
Where else are they going to find:
a principal who talks at 1.75x speed
knows every kid’s middle name, shoe size, spiritual gift, and preferred brand of mechanical pencil
makes decisions while simultaneously running a field trip, answering emails, and breaking up a debate about who stole the purple Expo marker
prays for them
laughs with them
pushes them
supports them
and fully intends to follow them to college if they don’t do their assignments?
BHCA high schoolers get leadership, discipleship, responsibility…
and Mrs. Brady in all her glory.
That alone is a benefit you won’t find in the public school brochure. 😂
BHCA High School Is Worth It.**
For their heart.
For their future.
For their faith.
For their identity.
For their calling.
Your child gets ONE high school experience.
Make it one that builds them — not breaks them.
