At Big House Christian Academy, we believe leadership is not a position — it is character in action.
Our goal is to raise students who lead with humility, courage, integrity, and a heart for Christ.
BHCA offers intentional opportunities for students to grow as leaders in age-appropriate, meaningful ways.
Whether through chapel, Life Groups, service, or daily responsibilities, students learn to influence others for God’s glory.
Our trained Life Group Leaders shepherd small groups of students after chapel each week.
This is one of the most important discipleship roles at BHCA.
Life Group Leaders learn to:
facilitate meaningful discussion
apply Scripture to real-life issues
pray with and for others
support younger students
create a welcoming, respectful atmosphere
model Christlike character
These students set the spiritual tone for the school.
As part of our commitment to developing confident, Christ-centered leaders, BHCA participates in TeenPact Leadership School, a nationally respected Christian program that teaches students about government, leadership, and biblical citizenship.
TeenPact gives students hands-on opportunities to:
learn how government works
participate in mock elections and legislative sessions
speak publicly with confidence
debate respectfully
write bills and defend ideas
meet leaders and elected officials
grow in personal discipline and spiritual maturity
TeenPact combines:
leadership training
discipleship
civic education
hands-on learning
Christian worldview teaching
It is one of the most transformative leadership experiences BHCA students participate in each year.
Students help lead various aspects of chapel, including:
prayer
Scripture reading
worship team
hosting or welcoming
helping with setup and support
Chapel leadership encourages students to use their gifts to serve the Lord publicly and confidently.
Students lead through acts of service, including:
organizing donations
volunteering at school events
helping younger grades
serving during field trips and outreach activities
leading by example in attitude and behavior
BHCA emphasizes that leadership begins with servanthood.
Sports provide natural leadership growth for student-athletes.
Athletes learn:
teamwork
perseverance
self-discipline
conflict resolution
positive communication
sportsmanship
representing Christ on and off the field
Captains and team leaders also learn to encourage teammates and set a positive tone.
Students demonstrate leadership academically when they:
take initiative
demonstrate strong work habits
help peers with assignments
model respect and responsibility
complete their work with excellence
mentor younger students in reading or math groups
These leadership qualities help shape lifelong learners.
At BHCA, the most important leadership lessons are found in:
doing what is right
telling the truth
showing kindness
taking responsibility
demonstrating humility
having courage
seeking peace
honoring teachers
Character is the foundation of all leadership.
“Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant.”
— Matthew 20:26
Leadership at BHCA is Christ-centered.
We teach students to:
lead by serving
lead by example
lead with grace and truth
lead with humility
lead with love
Our prayer is that every BHCA student becomes a leader who reflects Christ in every area of life.
