At Big House Christian Academy, discipleship is woven into every part of school life. We want our students to know truth, love Jesus, and develop a faith that lasts a lifetime. Chapel and our Christian Life practices help create a school culture where students grow spiritually, build godly friendships, and learn to live out their faith daily.
Each week, students gather for a time of worship, prayer, and biblical teaching.
Chapel includes:
Scripture reading
Worship music
Practical, age-appropriate messages
Student participation in prayer and leadership
Our goal is not just to teach the Bible, but to create space for students to respond to God’s Word personally and authentically.
Immediately following chapel, students move into Life Groups — small groups led by trained high school students. These groups help students better understand the chapel message and apply biblical truth to their daily lives.
discuss the chapel message
reflect on how Scripture applies to real situations
share prayer needs
pray for each other
build godly friendships
practice encouragement, grace, and accountability
Life Groups are intentionally small, helping every student feel known and supported.
High school Life Group Leaders learn to:
guide meaningful, Christ-centered conversations
model biblical character
support younger students spiritually
lead in prayer
create a welcoming, safe environment
Life Groups are one of the most important discipleship structures at BHCA.
Faith is not reserved for chapel — it is woven into every subject at BHCA.
In all classes, students see how God’s truth applies to:
math and order
science and creation
history and God’s sovereignty
literature and virtue
writing and communication
relationships and character
Teachers integrate Scripture naturally, helping students see God’s hand in every area of life.
In addition to chapel and Life Groups, BHCA provides meaningful experiences that help students grow in their faith, deepen friendships, and develop leadership.
Each year, BHCA high school students attend the International Baptist College & Seminary Youth Retreat, a spiritually rich, high-energy weekend designed to strengthen their walk with Christ.
Students experience:
powerful preaching
Christ-centered worship
small group sessions
fellowship with other Christian teens
opportunities to deepen their faith
personal spiritual reflection
fun and memorable activities
This retreat is a highlight of the school year and a pivotal moment of spiritual growth for many of our students.
Our middle school and high school students participate in the Grand View Camp STEM Camp, where hands-on STEM learning meets outdoor adventure and Christian community.
Students explore:
science and engineering challenges
hands-on experiments
outdoor exploration
teamwork & problem-solving
biblical truth integrated into STEM topics
The atmosphere is fun, active, and deeply encouraging. Students not only grow academically—they build friendships, confidence, and a greater appreciation for God’s creation.
Throughout the year, BHCA students also participate in:
service projects
outreach events
opportunities to serve younger students
character-building leadership activities
Our desire is to cultivate hearts that love God, love others, and live out their faith boldly.
