In partnership with Grand Canyon University, high school students at BHCA in grades 10-12 can take dual enrollment classes and earn up to 60 college credits while still in high school!
A: In addition to BHCA's regular tuition, there is an additional cost for each dual-enrollment course. Most classes are $325 but some are $210. The fees will be added to your BHCA tuition invoice. ESA funds may be used.
A: Sophomores with a 3.25 or higher unweighted GPA, as well as juniors and seniors with a 3.0 or higher unweighted GPA are eligible for these courses. If a student will be taking math or English with GCU, they must also take and pass a placement test.
A: Students can earn up to 60 college credits. Most dual-enrollment classes are worth 4 college credits and 1 high school credit.
A: If you’d like to review GCU's learning management system, here is a demo link: https://testdrive.gcu.edu/test-drive. Through this, you can view what their online classroom looks like and you can even practice a few mini-assignments to get a feel for it! The majority of the online learning takes place through self-guided reading, lecture notes, online discussion forums, and homework/quizzes.
A: Classes will require about 10-12 hours of work for the average student in our 7-week model. BHCA will design dual-enrolled students' schedules with this in mind. Ideally, a student would get all of their work done at school, but there may be times when a student needs to work outside of school. The exact amount of time for each student will vary.
