Welcome to our Upper Elementary Combo Class!
Our 3rd-6th grade classroom is designed to provide a structured, engaging, and Christ-centered learning environment where students are challenged to grow academically, socially, and spiritually. Through a combination of strong foundational instruction, hands-on learning experiences, critical thinking activities, and individualized support, students develop confidence, responsibility, and a deeper love for learning while strengthening their relationship with the Lord.

Our 3rd–6th grade students use a blend of academically strong, Biblically grounded curricula designed to support both foundational skills and deeper critical thinking. For Bible and history, students use the Abeka curriculum, which provides a strong Biblical worldview while building comprehension and historical understanding. English and spelling instruction is taught through Rod and Staff, emphasizing grammar, writing, vocabulary, and strong language mechanics.
For math, students use the Math with Confidence curriculum, which focuses on hands-on learning, conceptual understanding, number sense, and real-world problem solving to help students build strong mathematical foundations with confidence. Reading and science are taught using the Generations curriculum, which encourages critical thinking, literature analysis, and science instruction through a Biblical worldview while helping students grow in both academic skills and faith.

At Big House Christian Academy, our 3rd–6th grade combo classroom provides a structured, Christ-centered learning environment where students are encouraged to grow academically, socially, and spiritually. One of the unique benefits of our combo classroom model is the opportunity for students to learn alongside peers of different ages, helping develop leadership, responsibility, collaboration, and confidence in a family-like atmosphere. Through individualized instruction, hands-on learning experiences, strong academics, and a Biblical worldview woven throughout the school day, students are challenged to reach their God-given potential while building a genuine love for learning and for the Lord.
Older students build confidence and responsibility by modeling kindness, leadership, and strong classroom habits.
Students develop close friendships and learn in a nurturing classroom community where every child is known and valued.
Our students learn through interactive activities, educational games, centers, projects, manipulatives, and engaging lessons designed to make learning exciting and meaningful.
We believe some of the most meaningful learning happens beyond the classroom through hands-on experiences, creative enrichment opportunities, and joyful community events. Throughout the year, our students participate in educational field trips, helping bring classroom learning to life through real-world exploration. Students also enjoy special on-campus enrichment experiences, including activities such as drum workshops with Casa Grande Drum Academy and woodworking classes. In addition, we love creating meaningful memories through family movie nights, princess tea parties, holiday celebrations, and other community events. Students also have opportunities to participate in Christmas and Easter performances that help build confidence, creativity, teamwork, and a love for worship and the arts.
